Gippsland Rally POSTPONED

The 2021 Middle of Everywhere Gippsland Rally is postponed till Saturday 16 October. The recent COVID lockdown restrictions have delayed crucial planning of the event. It is anticipated post lockdown restrictions will prohibit the event from proceeding on 7 August.

The new event date replaces the Akademos Rally’s position on the 2021 VRC calendar as organisers have been impacted by COVID, impeding progress of the event planning. The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) has approved this new date for the Gippsland Rally.

“It is a fantastic outcome to still be able to run the event. We look forward to seeing the 50th anniversary Akademos Rally returning in 2022.” Clerk of Course, Andrew Roseman added.

The Gippsland Rally’s new date is one week before the Adelaide Hills Rally. If any COVID restrictions do force a cancellation of SA’s round, Gippsland Rally will offer Motorsport Australia the opportunity for the event to also run as a round of the 2021 RSEA Safety Motorsport Australia Rally Championship.

This decision has been made in consultation with all of our key stakeholders and the event organisers thank you for your understanding.
